Polyurethane or Epoxy?

Polyurethane or Epoxy?

Both are resin-based floor coatings, but they are designed for different jobs. The short version is this: epoxy is harder, polyurethane is more flexible. Hardness means resistance to abrasion; flexibility means tolerance of temperature change and impact.

So the question is not "which one is better" but "what is stressing this floor".

When to Use Which

Enclosed warehouses and workshops: heavy abrasion, no sunlight — epoxy systems lead here.

Food and beverage production: where washing is done with hot water and organic acids, polyurethane concrete (Ucrete type) systems are preferred.

Open car parks and ramps: UV exposure and temperature swings are high; polyurethane has the advantage in colour and flexibility.

Cold stores: systems that can be applied at low temperature and accommodate shrinkage are needed.
