Epoxy where it is used

An epoxy floor is built from two components: a resin and a hardener. The resin is clear or near-clear and almost odourless. Mixing the two starts a chemical reaction that turns the material into a hard, plastic-like solid — durable, impermeable to water and resistant to chemical attack.

You will find epoxy floors in factories, shopping centres, open and covered car parks, hospitals and clinics, offices, staff canteens, commercial kitchens and hotels.

In housing, epoxy systems are used decoratively in bathrooms, kitchens and cloakrooms. Few building materials turn up in as many different settings, and in each of them the specification is chosen for a different requirement — but the floor adds value in all of them.

The same coatings are used on ships and yachts — one reason epoxy has become the finish of choice over the past few years.
